Women’s basketball picks up road win over Keuka

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. (January 14, 2014) – The Penn State Berks women's basketball team defeated Keuka College, 60-46, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Friday afternoon at Weed Gymnasium.

The Nittany Lions took an 18-17 lead with 10:42 left in the first half and would never trail again the rest of the way. Berks took a 33-25 lead into the break after Kellie Wilson knocked down the first of her four 3-pointers with eight seconds before the intermission.

Shanelle Koch, who played all 40 minutes of the game, recorded her second double-double of the season after recording a game-high 18 points and 10 rebounds. The sophomore guard shot 9-of-13 from the floor and also matched a career-high with three blocked shots.

Wilson knocked down a career-best four 3-pointers and finished the game with 15 points. Freshman forward Khadijah Robinson notched her second double-double of her career after recording 12 points and a game-high 14 boards. She pulled down 11 of those rebounds in the second half to help secure the first win of the year for the Nittany Lions.

The Storm cut their deficit to four points with 5:33 to play, but Cassidy Schultz hit a clutch 3-pointer keep the momentum in Berks' favor. Schultz finished the game with seven points.

Berks shot 40.0% (24-of-60) from the floor, while the Storm struggled to 28.6% (16-of-56). The Nittany Lions held a 47-37 advantage in rebounds.

The Nittany Lions will host Bryn Athyn College in a non-conference contest on Monday, January 20 at 7 p.m. in Beaver Community Center.
