Women's basketball downed by Bryn Athyn



READING, PA (January 20, 2014) - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team dropped a non-conference contest to Bryn Athyn College, 75-57, on Monday night at Beaver Community Center.

The Nittany Lions struggled at the foul line by shooting 50% (16-for-32), while Bryan Athyn was a much more efficient 65.2% (15-for-23). Berks also lost the battle of the boards by a 58-32 margin.

Shanelle Koch was one of the Nittany Lions that had a strong showing at the foul line, converting on 7 of her 10 attempts. The sophomore guard finished with a team-high 15 points, six rebounds, and six steals. Amber Hess-Moore tallied 13 points, followed by Kellie Wilson with 10. Cassidy Schultz added seven points and handed out a career-high five assists.

Hajaah Stevens led Bryn Athyn with 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the floor. She pulled down 21 rebounds (11 offense, 10 defense) to record a double-double. Kristina Clark also added a double-double with her 16 points and 14 boards. Brittany Vick hit three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Penn State Abington for a NEAC contest on Wednesday, January 22 at 8 p.m.
