Nittany Lions drop home finale to Lancaster Bible College



READING, PA (February 15, 2013) - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team fell in its home finale to Lancaster Bible College, 67-52, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Friday evening at Beaver Community Center. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions (9-14, 8-9) recognized Fatima Rone, who played her final home game of her career, before the game for Senior Day honors. Rone received a Penn State Berks mug from the athletics department, while her team gave a personalized poster with action pictures and article clippings, a framed action picture, and flowers.

The contest also was a Pink Game fundraiser to rasie money and awareness for breast cancer awareness. All proceeds benefit the Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County, a non-profit organization that provides hope, information, and emotional support to women diagnosed with breast cancer and those who care for and about them. The women's and men's teams combined to raise $481.38 with the help of donations at the door and a half-court contest. (Click here for more information)

Kellie Wilson finished with a team-high 17 points, all of which were recorded in the second half. She shot 7-for-12 from the floor and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Nichole Young-Trapp and Shanelle Koch each chipped in 10 points. Rone chipped in eight points and a team-high seven rebounds.

The Chargers (20-4, 15-2) were led by Aubrey Folger's 25 points and eight rbounds, followed by Lauren Heliger with 13 points and a game-high nine boards.

With the loss, the Nittany Lions were eliminated from playoff contenion. The College of Saint Elizabeth is one-game ahead and control the tiebreaker over Berks.

The Nittany Lions will finish out their season with a road contest at Gallaudet University on Saturday, February 16 at 12 p.m.
