MIDDLETOWN, PA (February 13, 2013) - Shanelle Koch led all scorers with 22 points, but it was not enough as the Penn State Berks women's basketball team suffered a 90-71 setback on the road to Penn State Harrisburg in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) South Division contest on Wednesday evening. The Nittany Lions fall to 9-13 overall and 8-8 in the NEAC, which makes them tied with the College of Saint Elizabeth for third in the division. Harrisburg moves to 16-7 overall and 12-4 in the conference with the No. 2 seed in the South wrapped up.

Koch shot 8-for-13 from the floor and made all six of her free throws to finish one point shy of her season-high. The freshman guard raised her team-best scoring average to 15.9 points per game. Koch also pulled down seven rebounds and had a blocked shot. Kellie Wilson followed with 17 points and recorded nine rebounds, five steals, and four assists.

Keisha Robinson and Nichole Young-Trapp each added 10 points. Robinson had a career-high 10 assists to record her second double-double of the season, while Young-Trapp grabbed 10 boards to notch her seventh double-double. Robinson also had six steals and five assists.

Berks led 17-10 early in the first half before a 23-4 run by Harrisburg gave them a 12 point lead. Harrisburg led 46-37 at halftime, but Berks scratched away at the deficit and trailed by five points with 15:29 remaining in the contest. That is as close as Berks would get as Jasmine Yanich drained a 3-pointer to turn the momentum.

Mercedes Copeland led Harrisburg in scoring with 17 points and also recorded eight rebounds. Mikhail Whitcomb connect on four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points. Amanda Moyer netted 14 points and Yanich chipped in 11 to round out the Harrisburg players in double figures.

The Nittany Lions will continue its playoff push with a home contest against Lancaster Bible College on Friday, February 15 at 6 p.m. in Beaver Community Center. The contest will be Senior Night and a Pink Game to raise breast cancer awareness.
