Women's volleyball cruises to sweep in regular season finale



ALLENTOWN, PA (October 30, 2013) - The Penn State Berks women's volleyball downed Cedar Crest College, 3-0, in a non-conference contest on Wednesday evening at Lees Gymnasium. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions (16-12) won their regular-season finale by game scores of 25-12, 25-18, 25-15.

Sophia Zhang had a contest-high 14 kills en route to becoming the all-time leader in program history with 390. Zhang has reached double-digit kills in each of the last 16 matches. The freshman outside hitter also chipped in two block assists.

Maria Pavone was next on the team with eight kills and two block assists, while Cassidy Schultz added five kills and a solo block. Colby Jones had a season-high five service aces and three block assists. Jordan Heath handed out 29 assists and Morgan Buterbaugh had a contest-high 13 digs. Heleanna Davison had four block assists to move into third on the single-season rankings.

The Nittany Lions will host Lancaster Bible College on Tuesday, November 5 in the NEAC Quarterfinal round.
