Nittany Lions fall to Wells in home finale

READING, PA (October 20, 2013) - The Penn State Berks men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Wells College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference contest on Sunday afternoon. (Boxscore)

Darrell Geisinger gave one of his greatest performances of the season, but the Express were able to get the breaks they needed to pick up the win. Both goals scored by Wells came off of rebounds on saves by Geisinger.

Alex van Hoekelen took a shot from the left corner of the box that Geisinger stopped, but J. Tyler Adams crashed the net and put the rebound through the right side. In the 12 minute, Max Cherry had his shot saved on a breakaway but he collected the rebound and knocked it into the net.

Justin Bass and Andrew Yasenchak each had good scoring chances in the second half, but keeper C.J. Bayly was able to make the save on both. Bayly finished the contest with four saves.

The Express outshot Berks by an 18-6 margin and held a 9-3 advantage on corner kicks.

The Nittany Lions will wrap up the season with a non-conference contest at Wesley College on Tuesday, October 22 at 7 p.m.
