Women's volleyball drops two at DeSales Tri-Match

CENTER VALLEY, PA (October 12, 2013) – The Penn State Berks women's volleyball team dropped a pair of non-conference contests to DeSales University and Widener University on Saturday afternoon at Billera Hall.

DeSales 3, Penn State Berks 0 (Boxscore)
The Bulldogs (13-10) picked up the sweep with game scores of 25-23, 25-14, 25-15. Sophia Zhang had 15 kills to lead the Nittany Lions, followed by Cassidy Schultz with nine. Morgan Buterbaugh had a contest-high 26 digs, while Schultz recorded 11. Jordan Heath handed out 38 assists.

Widener 3, Penn State Berks 0 (Boxscore)
The contest was much closer than the final score indicates as the Pride (14-10) pulled out the win by game scores of 25-21, 25-19, 25-20. Zhang had 10 kills, followed by Schultz and Heleanna Davison with six each. Heath had a strong performance of 27 assists, two aces, and a season-high three block assists. The Nittany Lions (10-9) had 64 digs led by Buterbaugh (22), SARAH WINTON (12), Schultz (10), and Colby Jones (10).

The Nittany Lions will travel to Muhlenberg College for a non-conference contest on Wednesday, October 16 at 7 p.m.
