Wilson's career day leads Nittany Lions to win

READING, PA (January 23, 2013) - Kellie Wilson was one of five players to reach double figures in scoring as the Penn State Berks women's basketball team recorded a season-high in points during an 87-65 victory over the College of Saint Elizabeth in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Southern Division contest on Wednesday evening at Beaver Community Center. The Nittany Lions (6-10, 5-5 NEAC) gained the lead for good after a 9-0 run put them ahead 17-14 with 6:57 until halftime. They led by a 28-26 margin at the break and pulled away with an early 13-2 run. The Screaming Eagles (6-9, 4-5 NEAC) battled by to an eight point deficit, but Berks used an 11-0 run to put the game away.

Wilson finished with 26 points to easily shatter her previous high of 20, which she recorded earlier in the season against Keuka College. Wilson was a perfect 14-for-14 at the foul line, which is the most made free throws without a miss in school history. The junior guard was 6-for-12 shooting from the floor and raised her scoring average to 12.4 per game. Wilson also shared the wealth by handing out a game-high six assists.

Shanelle Koch shot 10-for-12 at the foul line, and combined with Wilson and her team on a 34-for-43 performance at the charity stripe. Koch scored 18 of her 20 points in the second half. She recorded four assists and four steals as well.
Keisha Robinson added 13 points, while Fatima Rone and Nichole Young-Trapp each chipped in 12 to round out the Nittany Lions in double-digits. Rone led the Nittany Lions with eight rebounds, followed by Young-Trapp with seven.

Amerisse Rogers led the Screaming Eagles with 20 points, followed by Ashley Pledger with 10. Cheyenne Grant added eight points, while Kelly O'Dell had a contest-high 13 rebounds.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Lancaster Bible College for a NEAC South contest on Saturday, January 26 at 1 p.m.
