Women's tennis shuts out Keuka, 9-0

Box Score READING, PA (April 21, 2012) - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team won the regular-season finale, 9-0, over Keuka College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions finished in second place in the NEAC with a record of 5-1, while Keuka falls to 2-3 in the conference and is tied for fourth place.

Aimee Hoffman and Arion Harris emerged victorious in a thriller at first doubles, winning by a score of 8-6. Elizabeth Kehm and Amanda Fuller teamed up for an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles, while Kristina Hatter and Samantha Warga were 8-4 winners in the third spot.

Harris cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win out of No. 2 singles, while Fuller (No. 4) and Hatter (No. 5) both won by set scores of 6-0, 6-1. Kehm earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory at third singles.

Hoffman survived the tightest match of the day. She won the first set 6-2, but Emily Knapsack evened it up with 7-5 win in the second. In the third set tiebreaker, Hoffman clinched the victory by a score of 10-8.

The Nittany Lions will play in the NEAC Team Championship on Thursday, April 26 at the Birchwood Tennis Center in Clarks Summit, PA.
