Men's basketball falls on the road to Delaware Valley College



DOYLESTOWN, PA (December 3, 2012) - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team dropped an 84-64 decision to Delaware Valley College in a non-conference contest on Monday evening. (Boxscore)

Darren Major made the first start of his collegiate career and finished with a team-high 11 points. Freshman guard Dameon Nixon and senior forward Jeff Schmidt each chipped in 10 points, followed by Evan Belczyk with nine. Tom Smith recorded eight points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots.

The Aggies (4-3) shot 33-for-61 from the floor (54.1%) and were 11-of-27 from 3-point range (40.7). Daulton Derr registered a contest-high 30 points behind the help of five 3-pointers and 12-of-17 shooting from the floor. Jeremy Beckett recorded 20 points, 12 boards, four assists, three blocked shots, and three steals.

The Nittany Lions will host their North Eastern Athletic Conference South Division opener against Gallaudet University on Friday, December 7 at 8 p.m.
