The Nittany Lions came to life in the second half behind strong shooting (51.3%) and better ball control. Berks committed just three turnovers after the halftime intermission, while forcing the Bulldogs (2-2) into 12 miscues.

DeSales led 47-32 at halftime and led by as much as 14 points with 46 seconds left in the contest. After a technical foul, Darren Major hit a pair of free throws and Dameon Nixon knocked down a 3. Jeff Schmidt stole the inbounds pass and found Evan Belczyk for another 3. In the span of six seconds, the Nittany Lions cut their deficit to six points.

The Bulldogs denied the Nittany Lions late comeback bid with a fast break layup and two free throws down the stretch.
