Women's basketball falls to Shenandoah in consolation game



CARLISLE, PA (November 18, 2012) - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team suffered a 79-52 setback to Shenandoah University in the consolation game of the Days Inn Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Dickinson College on Sunday afternoon. (Boxscore)

The bright spot for the Nittany Lions (0-2) was the strong play from Sherrie Satchel. The sophomore forward notched the second double-double of her career with a personal-best 18 points and 13 rebounds. Satchel also recorded three blocked shots, three steals, and two assists.

Senior Fatima Rone chipped in nine points and seven boards, while Nichole Young-Trapp and Brittney Mitchell each added eight points.

The Hornets (1-2), who finished with three players in double figures, were led by Holly Chitenden's 22 points. Crystal Petrus followed with 12 points and Corin Scott added 10.

The Nittany Lions will host their home opener against Albright College on Tuesday, November 20 at 6 p.m. in Beaver Community Center.
