Nittany Lions drop season opener to Lynchburg College



CARLISLE, PA (November 17, 2012) – The Penn State Berks women's basketball dropped its season opener to Lynchburg College, 92-29, at the Days Inn Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Dickinson College on Saturday afternoon. (Boxscore)

Sherrie Satchel matched a career-high with 10 points scored to lead the Nittany Lions. Satchel also recorded three rebounds and three blocked shots. Keisha Robinson scored six points and had a team-high three steals, while freshman Nichole Young-Trapp chipped in five points.

Lynchburg was paced on offense by Shannon Allan with 15 points and Lauren Penley with 14. Katie Ruth added 11 points to round out the Hornets in double figures.

The Nittany Lions will face Shenandoah University in the consolation game on Sunday, November 18 at 2 p.m. Lynchburg and host Dickinson College will square off in the championship round at 4 p.m.
