CENTER VALLEY, PA (October 3, 2012) - Kayla Mosser had a career-high 23 kills to lead the Penn State Berks women's volleyball team to a historic 3-2 comeback road win in a non-conference contest with DeSales University on Wednesday evening. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions found themselves in an 0-2 hole after falling 25-13 and 25-18 in the first two games. But the blue-and-white battled back with wins of 25-21 and 25-19 to force a fifth game. In the decisive game, Berks won by a score of 15-11 to cap off the first ever comeback from an 0-2 deficit in school-history.

Mosser also recorded a career-high 55 attacks and only six of those attempts resulted in errors. The sophomore middle blocker finished the contest with a very efficient .309 hitting percentage. She also tallied three block assists in the winning effort.

Caitlin Scroger also had a strong night for Berks, finishing with 13 kills and assisting on one block. Maria Pavone and Courtney Lucarelli combined for 13 kills.

The Nittany Lions hitting percentage in the final three games of the match are the telling tale of how they managed the epic comeback. After finishing with a -.023 and .062 in the first two sets, Berks finished off the game recording 39 kills and 13 errors for a much improved .200 attack percentage.

Lucarelli established a career-high with 30 digs and the team collected a season-high 104 digs. Victoria Young had a season-high 28 digs, followed by Katie Sostak with 16 and Cassidy Schultz with 13. Abby Musselman, who finished with eight digs, handed out 45 assists.

The Nittany Lions will look to carry this momentum into their NEAC Division play this weekend at Gallaudet University. Berks will face Penn State Harrisburg (3 p.m.) and the College of Saint Elizabeth (5 p.m.) on Friday afternoon. They finish off the weekend against Penn State Abington (12 p.m.) and host Gallaudet (2 p.m.) on Saturday afternoon.
