Nittany Lions finish unbeaten in NEAC crossover



LANCASTER, PA (October 20, 2012) - The Penn State Berks women's volleyball team defeated Wells College and Morrisville State College, both by a score of 3-0, to finish the weekend with a perfect record in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) crossover hosted by Lancaster Bible College. The Nittany Lions (17-8, 8-2 NEAC) won by game scores of 25-13, 25-22, 25-10 in the opener and cruised to a 25-5, 25-8, 25-15 victory against the Mustangs. Berks earned its sixth straight victory, matching a season high set earlier in the month.

Against the Express, Kayla Mosser and Caitlin Scroger combined for 16 of the teams 37 kills. Scroger did not commit an error on 11 attempts to finish with a .636 hitting percentage. Abby Musselman recorded 29 assists, 10 digs and four service aces. Victoria Young had a contest high 11 digs.

In the second match, Mosser tallied eight kills and Maria Pavone followed with five. Rachel Sweeney recorded five of the Nittany Lions 12 service aces and Cassidy Schultz chipped in three. Musselman had 15 assists and eight digs.

The Nittany Lions will host the University of Scranton in a "Dig Pink" game on Tuesday, October 23 at 7 p.m. in Beaver Community Center. For information on the event, please click here.
