Women's volleyball cruises to sweep over Albright College



READING, PA (October 11, 2012) - The Penn State Berks women's volleyball team won for the eighth time in nine matches after defeating Albright College, 3-0, on Thursday evening in a non-conference contest. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions (14-8) won by scores of 25-15, 25-19, 27-25 to pick up their fourth consecutive 3-0 win over the crosstown rival Lions.

Kayla Mosser led Berks with 11 kills and added five total blocks. The sophomore middle blocker has run her season total up to 223 kills with 22 solo blocks and 27 block assists. Caitlin Scroger chipped in six kills and Rachel Sweeney added five. Maria Pavone notched a career-high three block assists and also had four kills.

Victoria Young was one of five Nittany Lions to finish the contest with double-digit digs. She picked up 25, followed by Abby Musselman and Courtney Lucarelli with 12. Katie Sostak and Cassidy Schultz each recorded 11 digs. Musselman handed out 28 assists, marking the ninth time this season she reached a double-double in assists and digs.

The Nittany Lions will host Frostburg State in a non-conference tilt on Tuesday, October 16 at 7 p.m. in Beaver Community Center.
