Nittany Lions keep rolling with win over Cedar Crest College

ALLENTOWN, PA (October 11, 2012) - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team continued its dominant play this season with an 8-1 road win over Cedar Crest College in a non-conference contest on Thursday afternoon. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions (11-2) improved their school-best win streak to 11 straight and matched the 2009 squad for second most wins in program history.

Sara Conover, who entered the week tied for 11th in the nation for points scored, tacked on six more to raise her season total up to 39. She recorded the opening goal of the match at the 2:10 mark of the first half and tallied four assists throughout the match. The four assists set a single-game school record. Sophomore Steph Tankalavage enjoyed a career-day with three goals and an assist.

Caitlin Deibler ripped a line drive through the top left corner in the 15th minute to give Berks a 3-0 lead. She added her second goal of the contest off of a free kick for her fourth goal of the season. Emma Babp and Jenna Fick scored the other two goals for the Nittany Lions.

Savannah Cramer made three saves and did not allow a goal in her 63 minutes, 50 seconds in goal. The sophomore standout has lowered her goals against average to a 0.59 this season.

The Nittany Lions will host NEAC foe Penn State Abington on Saturday, October 13 at 1 p.m. With a victory, the Nittany Lions will inch closer to clinching the NEAC regular season title.
