Nittany Lions fall in road contest to St. Elizabeth

MORRISTOWN, N.J. (January 25, 2012) - Four players scored in double-figures for the Penn State Berks women's basketball team, but the College of St. Elizabeth earned the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory by a score of 75-63 on Wednesday evening.

The Nittany Lions (4-12, 3-7 NEAC South) had one of their finest shooting performances of the season, going 20-for-57 (35.1%) and hitting five 3-pointers. The Screaming Eagles finished just below Berks with 34.2% shooting, but did manage to drain six baskets from long distance.

Keisha Robinson led the Nittany Lions in scoring for the fourth straight contest with 16 points. She also recorded seven rebounds, five steals and a season-high three blocked shots. Kaelin Reed added 15 points and registered a blocked shot for the fifth consecutive game. For the season, Reed has 23 blocks which is tied for sixth in a single-season at Berks.

Ashley Kenny finished the game with 12 points, while Kaley Kinek tallied all 10 of her points in the second half. Kinek knocked down two 3-pointers in final two minutes of the game.

Sabrina Jarmolinski had a game-high 19 points, 15 rebounds and six assists, while Kelly O'Dell had scored 17 and brought down six boards. Anastasia Feola rounded out the top scorers with 11 points.

The Screaming Eagles (9-6, 6-3 NEAC South) led 41-26 at the break and gained their biggest lead of 22 points with 2:25 left in the game. From that point, the Nittany Lions did all the scoring with Kinek's two baskets from beyond the arc and 4-for-4 shooting at the foul line by Reed. But the spurt came too late for Berks.

The Nittany Lions will host NEAC foe Lancaster Bible on Saturday, January 28 at Beaver Community Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
