Robinson powers Nittany Lions to win over Abington

ABINGTON, PA (January 18, 2012) - Keisha Robinson's scoring outburst helped lead the Penn State Berks women's basketball team to a 59-51 road victory over Penn State Abington in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Wednesday evening.

Although playing in just her fifth game for Berks, Robinson was able to accomplish something that no other Nittany Lion player could this season with her 25 point effort. Entering the game, the highest point total in a contest was 17 by Ashley Kenny in win over Wells College on January 7.

Robinson was 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and finished 9-of-20 shooting from the floor. The junior guard did the majority of her scoring in the second half, where she was 3-for-3 from long distance and tallied 18 points.

Kenny netted 14 points, giving her double-digit scoring in four of the past five games. She brought down a game-high 12 rebounds to notch her second double-double of the season. Kenny also recorded a game-high in steals (6) and assists (3) to help in the winning effort.

Kaley Kinek chipped in eight points, while Fatima Rone and Kellie Wilson each had four points and six rebounds.

Abington was led in scoring by Trish Watson's 17 points, followed by Jessica Schmidt with 15. Kate Schalck added 10 points and six rebounds.

Berks will host a pair of NEAC contests this weekend, starting with Morrisville State on Saturday, January 21 at 3 p.m. They will then face Cazenovia College on Sunday, January 22, beginning at 3 p.m. in Beaver Community Center.
