St. Elizabeth grabs win in NEAC battle with Nittany Lions



READING, PA (January 11, 2012) - Playing before its home crowd for the first time in 44 days, the Penn State Berks women's basketball team fell 67-48 to the College of St. Elizabeth in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Wednesday evening at Beaver Community Center.

The Nittany Lions (2-9, 1-4 NEAC South) found themselves in an early 16-2 deficit early and were unable to dig out of that hole. The Screaming Eagles (6-4, 3-2 NEAC South)took a 40-29 lead into the intermission and outscored Berks by eight in the second half.

Ashley Kenny was the leading scorer for the Nittany Lions with 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor. Keisha Robinson and Jaslyn Silva each chipped in seven points. Kellie Wilson had a career-best eight rebounds, which was also a team high. Keisha Robinson had a contest-high six assists and also recorded four steals.

St. Elizabeth was led by Sabrina Jarmolinski's 21 points and 13 rebounds. The senior, who surpassed the 1,000th point mark in her career on Sunday, also had four steals and three assists. Kelly O'Dell notched a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards and recorded a game-high seven steals.

The Nittany Lions will return to action on Sunday, January 14 in an NEAC contest at Beaver Community Center against SUNY Cobleskill. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
