Women's soccer drops road match with King's

SCRANTON, PA (September 6, 2011) - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 road decision to King's College in a rainy non-conference bout Tuesday evening. (Boxscore)

Sam Raimondo, Steph Tankalavage and Chelsea Ray each had shots on goal, but were unable to find the back of the net.

The Nittany Lions (0-2) gave a strong defensive effor, but we unable keep the Lady Monarch offense silent. Angelina Renahan scored an unassisted goal at the 17:16 mark of the first half. After the intermission, Renahan added another unassisted goal with a chip shot off of a breakaway. Brianna Schmidt added the final tally with a break away in the 53rd minute.

Savannah Cramer made three saves in goal for the Nittany Lions, while Lauren Duguid also stopped three for the Lady Monarchs (1-2).

The Nittany Lions will begin North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play on Saturday afternoon against Keuka College. The home contest will begin at 3 p.m.
