Lions fall to Wesley in Goucher Tournament finale

TOWSON, MD (September 4, 2011) – The Penn State Berks men's soccer team drop a 5-1 decision to Wesley College on Sunday afternoon in the final day of the Goucher Tournament.

Zachary Alesi found the back of the net with a low shot into the corner with BRYAN FELLIN providing the assist in the 80th minute. It was the only score of the game for the Nittany Lions (0-3) and first of the 2011 season.

Sophomore JONATHAN JABLONKA made five saves in the first half. Freshman SEKOU KONNEHmade an appearance in net for the second half, finishing with eight saves.

The Wolverines (2-0-1) jumped out to an early lead with a goal by Thomas Yolain at the 11 minute, 40 second mark. Joshua Chelleh added back-to-back goals to go ahead 3-0 just 22 minutes into the contest.

Wesley held the advantage in shots (31-6) and corner kicks (7-2) to maintain control throughout the match.

The Nittany Lions host Penn State Hazleton in their first home game of the season on Tuesday, September 6 at 4 p.m.
