The Nittany Lions improved to 4-3-1 overall and moved above .500 for the first time this season. They are now 4-1-1 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. The Fighting Tigers fall to 2-6-2 overall and 1-3-2 in the NEAC.
Sophomore Lyndsay Naughton scored at the 19:18 mark of the first half to put Berks up 1-0. She now has a team-leading six goals this season, all of which came in the last four matches. Babp made the most out of her first start of the season when she found the back of the net in the 56th minute.
Cramer registered her second shutout of the season after making eight saves. She has allowed one goal or fewer in four of the last five contests, lowering her goals against average to 1.80.
The defensive unit of Ashley Pardoski, Madi Litwin, Sam Raimondo and Karly Shaffert limited the Cobleskill offensive attack. Raimondo was unbeatable in her 1-on-1 defense and Shaffert roamed around the field to put an end to any threats.
The blue-and-white offense pressured the Fighting Tigers defense throughout the day with a 35-11 margin in shots. Berks also held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The Nittany Lions will host Franklin & Marshall College in a non-conference contest on Tuesday, September 27 at 4 p.m.
