READING, PA (September 1, 2011) – The Penn State Berks women's soccer team started off the 2011 campaign with a 4-0 road setback to cross-town rival Albright College on Thursday afternoon. Freshman keeper Savannah Cramer finished the contest with six saves, five of which came in the first half.
Lyndsay Naughton, Chelsea Ray and Karly Shaffert each recorded shots for the Nittany Lions.
Jordan Cassidy scored two goals in a five minute span to break the scoreless tie. Katie Cooper tallied a pair of goals to finish off the scoring.
Albright held the advantages in shots on goal (10-1) and corner kicks (5-1).
The Nittany Lions will travel to King's College for a non-conference contest on Tuesday, September 6 at 7 p.m.
