Women's basketball drop non-conference contest to Rosemont



ROSEMONT, PA (December 5, 2011) – The Penn State Berks women's basketball team suffered an 82-56 setback on the road to Rosemont College in a non-conference contest on Monday evening.

The Nittany Lions struggled shooting in the first half (27.3%), but improved with a 44.1% effort in the second half. The Ravens were a very efficient 46.4% from the floor and 35.7% from beyond the arc.

Shakiyla Stone led the Nittany Lions with 16 points and five assists. Fatima Rone set personal-bests with 14 points and nine rebounds. Ashley Kennyfinished with 10 points, five rebounds, four steals and two blocked shots.

The Ravens received the bulk of their scoring from Elizabeth Coyne (28 points) and Ashley Montecchio (24 points). Coyne also grabbed a contest-high 10 rebounds to record a double-double.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Gallaudet University for an NEAC Southern Division contest on Sunday, December 11 at 3 p.m.
