Women's basketball fall to Harrisburg in conference opener



MIDDLETOWN, PA (December 3, 2011) - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team dropped a 92-41 decision on the road to Penn State Harrisburg in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Southern Division contest on Saturday afternoon.

Berks fell to 1-5 overall and 0-1 in the NEAC Southern Division, while Harrisburg improved to 3-3 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

A layup by Fatima Rone cut the lead to 12-7 with 13:46 remaining in the opening half, but Harrisburg caught fire to take control of the game with a 50-23 lead at the intermission. Harrisburg maintained its hot shooting in the second half, finishing the contest with 52.1% from the floor.

Ashley Kenny led the Nittany Lions with eight points, followed by Shakiyla Stone with seven. Kellie Wilson and Kaelin Reed each chipped six points. Rone finished with a team-high seven rebounds, followed by Stone and Reed with six each.

Dorothea Dixon recorded a quadruple-double for Harrisburg with 11 points, 12 assists, 10 steals and 11 rebounds. Four other players scored in double-digits for Harrisburg, led by Amanda Moyer's contest-high 18 points.

The Nittany Lions will return to action on Monday, December 5 with a non-conference contest at Rosemont College beginning at 7 p.m.
