READING, PA (October 8, 2011) – The Penn State Berks men's soccer team fell 2-0 at home to Cazenovia College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon.
The teams took a scoreless tie into the intermission, but the Wildcats wasted no time taking advantage of a one-man advantage to start the second half. With the Nittany Lions playing a man down due to a red card, Cazenovia's Jason Luce scored just 32 seconds into the second half. The Wildcats padded the lead with another goal at the 52:26 mark.
Cory Garritano beat the keeper for a goal off of a penalty kick that would have cut the lead in half. But both teams had too many players in the box so a redo was called by the officials. On the do over, keeper Sam Cimino guessed correct and made the stop to secure the shutout.
Jonathan Jablonka made six saves in the contest. In a win over Bryn Athyn on Wednesday, the sophomore goalkeeper became the all-time saves leader at Penn State Berks. He has since run his total up 176 in his two seasons.
The Nittany Lions will return to action tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. against Morrisville State.
