Women's soccer blanked by Abington

ABINGTON, PA (October 15, 2011) - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 defeat on the road to Norht Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) foe Penn State Abington on Saturday afternoon. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions fall to 7-6-1 overall and 6-3-1 in the NEAC, while Abington improves to 11-1 overall and 9-1 in the conference.

Abington got on the board early with an unassisted goal by Alyssa Kane at the 7:05 mark of the opening period. They tacked on another score in the 41st minute and made the lead hold up the rest of the way.

Berks keeper Savannah Cramer made six saves in net. Natalie Woods, Lyndsay Naughton and Chelsea Ray each recorded a shot on goal, but were unable to locate the back of the net.

The Nittany Lions will host Alvernia College in a non-conference contest on Thursday, October 20 at 4 p.m.
