Boxscore

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. (November 7, 2010) - The Penn State Berks women's volleyball team saw its magical season draw to an end with a 3-1 loss to Gallaudet University in the NEAC Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Playing in back-to-back contests without any rest after beating Keuka, Berks was unable to capitalize on their win in the first game 27-25. The Bison took the next three games by scores of 25-23, 25-14 and 25-18 to capture the title in their first year in the conference.

JERICA DETSCH played solid in her final match for the blue-and-white with a team-high 11 kills and 22 digs. Freshman standout AMY SHELTON recorded eight kills and two block assists. RACHEL SWEENEY also notched eight kills, while SUZI SHELTON added seven.

Sophomore setter GLENDA NGO crossed the 1,000 assists plateau after dishing out 30. She finishes the season with 1,015 which is the most in school-history.

The Nittany Lions have plenty to be proud of after setting a program-record in wins (25) and reaching their first conference championship in school history. The Lions also placed four athletes on the All-Conference first team (Shelton, Shelton, Detsch and Ngo) and Jessie Franko was named the southern division Coach of the Year.
