READING, PA (October 07, 2010) - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team dropped its 3-1 nonconference match to visiting Washington College on Thursday afternoon.
Both teams now hold a .500 winning percentage, with Berks falling to 5-5 overall and Washington improving to 4-4-1.
The Nittany Lions evened the match at one in the second half when the scoring tandem of TAYLOR KREIDER and ALYSSA SCHEIDT worked in unison off of a corner kick. Scheidt leaped up and deflected the insert toward Kreider, who then ripped a shot into the back right corner past a slew of defenders.
The Shorewomen pulled away with two goals by Kira Pancotti. Her first goal came in the 58 minute off of a corner kick and the scoring was capped off when Pancotti knocked a rebound into the right corner.
Cassidy Dawson made seven saves in net for the Lions, six of which came in the second half.
The women hit the road for two North Eastern Athletic Conference matches with SUNY Morrisville and Cazenovia.
