READING, PA (October 18, 2010) - The lone goal of the match came 30 seconds into the second half to give Immaculata a 1-0 non-conference victory over the Penn State Berks men's soccer team on Monday afternoon.
The two teams played a nearly identical first half, with each keeper making three saves and the Mighty Macs outshooting Berks by only a 9-8 margin. However, right out of the intermission, Kameron Teel corralled a loose ball and beat the keeper with a shot into the back left corner of the net with exactly 30 seconds off the clock.
The Nittany Lions nearly tied it up with 3:39 remaining in the contest when LOGAN LANGSETH ripped a shot that soared just above the cross bar and out of play.
Freshman keeper JONATHAN JABLONKA made six saves for Berks, raising his season total to 59.
The Mighty Macs also held the advantage in corner kicks by a count of 7-3.
The men will travel to Lancaster Bible on Wednesday for a non-conference match beginning at 3:30 p.m.
