READIN G, PA (October 16, 2010) – The Penn State Berks men's soccer team dropped a hard fought North Eastern Athletic Conference contest by a score of 2-0 to Penn State Abington on Saturday afternoon.
Berks surrendered just one goal in each half, but were unable to penetrate the Abington defense. The best chance came in the first half when CHRIS BEATTY stole the ball at midfield and worked his way around three defenders and passing over to a charging CASEY CORREA. Correa ripped a shot that rolled past the right post, missing a goal by a matter of inches.
Freshman keeper JONATHAN JABLONKA had 10 saves, including eight in the second half. It was the second time this season Jablonka has made double-digit saves.
Abington's Elsion Pajollari scored an unassisted goal in the second half and added the assist on a score by Alix Edwards in the 38th minute.
Penn State Berks will host Immaculata University at 4 p.m. on Monday afternoon in a non-conference contest.
