READING, PA (October 13, 2010) - With just 41 seconds remaining in the first overtime, Immaculata found the back of the net to score the game winner in a 2-1 thriller in Wednesday afternoon's non-conference contest.
The Nittany Lions are now 1-1 in matches that go to overtime and their overall record falls to 6-7.
Bridget Cunningham tallied the winning goal by weaving through traffic and flipping the ball into the back left corner of the goal.
Taylor Kreider gave Berks a 1-0 advantage in the first half with her team-leading 14 goal of the season. Kreider nearly scored earlier in the half on a breakaway, but hit the post and ricocheted out of play.
The Mighty Macs (6-7-1) drew even in the 72nd minute of a score by Kim Steinke.
Cassidy Dawson had a strong performance in net for the Lions, finishing with eight saves. She kept Berks in the contest with several diving stops in the first half.
The women will host Penn State Abington at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 16 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference contest.
