Jeff Schmidt completed his first season as an assistant coach on the men's basketball team during the 2013-14 season. He had a stellar career with the Nittany Lions from 2008-13 and was a twice named to the All-NEAC Second Team.

In 2013-14, the Nittany Lions went 8-18 overall and were 7-11 in the NEAC. They made the conference postseason tournament for the third straight season. Berks defeated SUNY Cobleskill in the opening round, before falling to tournament host Lancaster Bible College in the semifinals. Berks had two players earn all-conference awards.


Schmidt finished off an amazing four-year career as one of the top players in program history. He is second place all time in rebounds (539), assists (249), blocked shots (121), and games started (75). Schmidt’s 688 points scored and 150 free throws made both rank fourth at Berks, while his 249 field goals made ranks fifth. He is third all-time in steals (89), games played (86), and minutes played (2379).
