Penn State Berks Athletics

Ian Gendreau enters his fifth season as the Penn State Berks Head Men's Basketball Coach in 2025-26. 

Gendreau took the helm entering the 2021-22 season, looking to rebuild the program. The team has seen steady growth in each under Gendreau's leadership collecting several All-Conference Honors. In the 2024-25, the Lions earned six conference victories, earning a berth in the United East Championship Tournament.  

Prior to taking over as the head coach, Gendreau worked as an assistant basketball coach for Penn State Berks from 2018-20. Gendreau spent five seasons leading the Daniel Boone High School Boy's Basketball Team from 2012-17. 

Gendreau went to Hamilton College, playing on the men's basketball team from 1991-1995. He graduated from Hamilton College with a Bachelors in Economics.
