Tom Deangelis finished his first season as an assistant coach of the baseball team in 2012. Deangelis serves a variety of roles for the Nittany Lions, working primarily with the outfielders and serving as first base coach.
In the 2012 season, the Nittany Lions finished 16-24 overall and went 10-2 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference West Division to win the regular season title.The Nittany Lions went on to win the West Division Championship after defeating Gallaudet University 13-5 in the title game. Berks' bid for the NCAA Regional Tournament came up just short after dropping a pair of games to Castleton State College in the conference finals.
Deangelis joins the staff after an impressive playing career at Widener University. He started all four-years for the Pride, finishing with a .369 batting average, 222 hits, 179 runs scored, 85 RBI, 51 doubles and 44 stolen bases. In his senior season, he led the team in runs scored (44), hits (50), doubles (13), slugging percentage (.569) and stolen bases (8).
Deangelis plays summer baseball for the Gablesville Owls in the Tri-County Baseball League.
