Jim Bergeman enters his first year as an assistant coach for Penn State Berks Baseball in 2023. 

Bergeman arrives having spent 6 years as an assistant baseball coach at Desales University under Tim Neiman. 

He graduated from Kutztown University in 1988.  Was a four year member of the baseball team, starting as a pitcher during his freshman year before taking a regular spot in the field the following three seasons.  He was selected All-PSAC Eastern Division First-Team as a shortstop in 1987.  He was also played in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League for the Quakertown Blazers during their 1985 season.   Prior to college Bergeman was a key member of the Boyertown Legion program from 1982 to 1984.  During those years the team won PA State Titles all three years; won the Mid-Atlantic Championships in 1982 and 1983; won a National Championship in 1982, and were National Runners-Up in 1983.   Outside baseball Bergeman works as a Chief Estimator for a Local Heavy/Civil Construction Contractor.   Coach Bergeman and his Wife, Jayne, have two children, Julia and Nick and reside in Coopersburg, Pa.
