Berks Battles Hard Against Lancaster Bible

LANCASTER, Pa. — Lancaster Bible College swept Penn State Berks on Saturday, September 27. The Chargers delivered a strong performance with 39 kills and a 0.418 hitting percentage. Despite the result, Penn State Berks continued to show development and flashes of solid play throughout the match.

Berks began the first set facing an early challenge as the Chargers opened with a 5-0 run. A service error by Lancaster Bible got Berks on the board, and they continued to battle with hustle and energy. Madelyn Caris delivered a service ace, and the team added key points through determined play, including a kill by Ella Griffiths late in the set.

The second set opened with an early Lancaster Bible lead, but the Lions responded quickly. Oceana Tirado recorded a kill assisted by Libby Swoyer, sparking a stretch of competitive play. Karlie Kerschner and Emily Snader each added points, showing the team's offensive potential. Defensively, Berks remained active, forcing attack errors and working to slow down the Chargers' momentum.

In the third set, the Lions came out strong with a service ace by Libby Swoyer to take an early lead. Emily Snader contributed with a block, and the team capitalized on key scoring opportunities. Berks stayed resilient throughout, pushing back against Lancaster Bible's attack and continuing to develop their rhythm and communication on the court.

Libby Swoyer contributed significantly with one kill, one ace, and six digs, showcasing her all-around impact. Emily Snader delivered defensively with two solo blocks while adding two kills. Madelyn Caris provided strength in the back row with seven digs and added one ace to her tally. Mackenzie Davis anchored the defense, collecting a team-high eight digs over two sets.
