Lions Show Heart in Road Test

ST. DAVIDS, Pa. — Penn State Berks fell to Eastern by a score of 6-1 on Tuesday, September 23. Eastern scored four goals in the first half, securing a commanding lead early in the match. The Nittany Lions managed to find the net once in the second half.

The first half began with Penn State Berks aiming to establish control, as Josh Martin quickly made a save against Eastern's early attempt. Despite efforts from Nathan Fatkin and Sebastian Restrepo, whose shots narrowly missed or were saved, The Lions faced challenges breaking through Eastern's defense. Eastern capitalized, with Zach Sievert scoring twice by the 16th minute and Evan Cope adding two goals later in the half. Martin made numerous crucial saves, including a stop against Tyler Truex, to limit further damage. The half closed with Eastern leading 4-0.

The second half started with Eastern scoring early as Joshua Rivera, assisted by Evan Cope, increased their lead to 5-0 at the 46th minute. Penn State Berks defense, particularly Patrick Martin, responded with key saves, including shots from Steven Fajardo and Haroon Husseini.

Despite Eastern extending their lead further with a goal by Osmond Chan, assisted by Mauro Lence, in the 65th minute, The Lions found a breakthrough. Terridine Grant scored with an assist from Nicholas McMasters in the 66th minute, bringing the score to 6-1. The contest concluded with Penn State Berks maintaining pressure and ending the game 6-1 in favor of the Eagles.

Terridine Grant scored one goal on his two shots, with one shot on goal for Penn State Berks. Nicholas McMasters contributed with an assist and finished with one shot on goal. Patrick Martin made three saves during his 45 minutes in goal, facing ten shots. Restrepo took three shots, one of which was on target.

Looking ahead, Penn State Berks will host Gwynedd Mercy University on September 29 for a 5 p.m. match up in Reading, PA.
