Softball Earns Seven United East All-Conference Honors

Latham, NY- The United East announced its 2025 Softball All-Conference Teams and Major Award Winners on Tuesday, May 13, with the Penn State Berks Softball Team collecting multiple honors. Donna Ference was named United East Coach of the Year. Lauren Ziegler collected First Team All-Conference Honors, while Paige Brightwell and Kylie Krauss were named to the Second Team All-Conference. Finally, Mallory Duff, Naomi Fay and Peyton Vivian were all named to the Third Team All-Conference.

Ziegler had strong season for the Lions at first base, routinely making picks and running down balls popped into foul territory. Ziegler showed off her power throughout the season, tying a school record with three doubles in the team's win over Valley Forge, and blasting a home run in the team's win over Keystone College.

Brightwell was the ace of the Penn State Berks staff, finishing the season with a record 12-5 overall, going 8-0 in conference, earning nine shutout victories. She has posted an ERA of 1.41 with a WHIP of 1.06, allowing 31 runs in 119.1 innings in the circle.
Brightwell posted 105 strikeouts to only 26 walks. She pitched 35 consecutive innings of shutout softball in conference play, earning two pitcher of the week awards for her efforts. 

Krauss has made a major impact as the Lions center fielder in first collegiate season. She has hit .311 this season, recording 33 hits, driving in 18 RBIs. Krauss led the Lions with 20 stolen bases this season.

Vivian had excelled season, hitting .360 this season, recording 40 hits including nine doubles and two triples and a home run. She drove in 30 key RBIs for the Lions and she posted an OPS of .932 and a Slugging Percentage of .505. Defensively, Vivian was outstanding at third base, using her elite arms strength to eliminate opposing base runners. 

Duff has a great 2025 season, pitching in almost every doubleheader for the Lions. Duff posted a record of 9-3 in her 16 appearances in the circle. She has also recorded three shutout victories. Duff pitched 69.2 innings, allowing only 32 runs, only 25 earned, on 77 hits. Mallory has added 21 strikeouts.

Fay has had another excellent spring, hitting .367 in her final season for the Lions. She recording 29 hits including four doubles. Fay has also flashed her speed on the base path, swiping 15 bases. She has also been an excellent defender, making highlight worthy plays on a regular basis.
