Bryn Mawr, Pa. - The Penn St. Berks Men's Basketball Team could not overcome a large second-half deficit, falling to Rosemont College by a score of 83-75 on Saturday, Feb. 15.
Berks (7-16 Overall, 6-10 UE) fell behind in the opening six minutes as the Ravens (5-21 Overall, 3-13 UE) rushed out to a 15-4 lead.
Kai Davis and
Isaiah Cotten tried to get the Lions going, each converting a layup. Rosemont responded going on a 19-2 run and building a 25-point lead.
Josh Mingledolph hated the run, swishing a 3-pointer and
Marquis Ferreira added a short jump shot. The Ravens scored the final five points of the half to hold a 46-18 lead at the break.
The Lions trailed by 30 points early in the second half, when they started to find their offensive rhythm. The Blue & White ripped off 11-consecutive points sparked by a 3-pointer by Davis. Berks continued to chip away at the deficit, with another 3-pointer by Mingledolph making the score 60-42. Ferreira added a 3-pointer with 7:53 remaining in the game to cut the deficit down to 16. Andre Ballard drilled a 3-pointer to level the score at 75. The Lions were not able to capture the lead as Rosemont scored the final eight points of the game, to earn the victory.
Ferreira led the Lions with 21 points, connecting three times from beyond the arc. Mingledolph also had a strong showing, finishing the game with 15 points, six assists, and five rebounds. Davie reached double figures, scoring 14 points while grabbing five rebounds. The Lions forced 30 turnovers, directly resulting in 35 points.

The Lions have earned the #11 seed in the United East Championship Tournament and will travel to Baltimore to take on #6 Notre Dame of Maryland University on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
