Media, PA - Penn State Berks secured a 1-0 road victory over Penn State Brandywine on Saturday at Brandywine Field, with the lone goal sealing the game in the first half.

The first half began with the Nittany setting the pace early. Paige Thomas took multiple shots, and her offensive efforts paid off when Amber Scritchfield found the net in the 9th minute, assisted by Thomas, giving Berks a 1-0 lead. Berks maintained offensive pressure, registering numerous shots on goal, but encountered solid resistance from Penn State Brandywine's goalkeeper, Jasmin Alvarez, who recorded several saves. Defensively, Sophia Gonzalez of Berks managed to keep Brandywine's attempts at bay, preserving the early lead. Despite numerous offensive drives led by Berks' players, including Faith Wavershak and Devon Deery, the score didn't change further in the half. The first half concluded with Berks holding a 1-0 advantage.

The second half commenced with Nittany Lions maintaining their offensive pressure. Ashley Jocham initiated the attack with an early shot, followed by Zoe Macknicki's attempt at 50:30 that went wide. Despite several opportunities, including a corner kick and multiple shots from Macknicki and Isabelle Wilkes, Berks was unable to convert these chances into goals. Berks continued to press, with Victoria McPoyle and Wavershak challenging the opposing goalkeeper, Alvarez, who made key saves to keep the scoreline unchanged. The half saw numerous corners taken by Berks, reflecting their persistent attacking effort. Berks maintained their offensive intensity, with Sydney Gonzalez and Maya Dolan each taking attempts on goal. However, the score remained 1-0 in favor of Berks at the end of the second half, as they held onto their first-half advantage.

Ashley Scritchfield scored the only goal for Berks, which was the game-winner, with her lone shot on goal. Sophia Gonzalez recorded a shutout in goal, making two saves over 90 minutes.
