READING, Pa. – The Penn State Berks women's soccer team continued its tough non-conference schedule with a home match against No. 19 Messiah on Wednesday night. Messiah won the game, 4-0, despite 12 saves from Berks goalie Sophia Gonzalez.

In the first half, the Berks defense did a strong job limited Messiah scoring opportunities, and the game was scoreless until the 41^st minute. Hannah Lashley scored by sneaking the ball just inside the crossbar and right post from the left side to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, Alayna Williams scored in the 63^rd minute and Kierstyn Fogle scored twice in a six-minute span to round out the totals.

Paige Thomas recorded a shot on goal for Berks in the second half.

Gonzalez entered the match ranked 15^th nationally in saves, and her 12 on Wednesday will surely move her higher in the national ranks.

Berks returns to action next Wednesday night with a home match against crosstown rival Alvernia.
