Langhorne, Pa.- The Penn St. Berks Men's Soccer Team closed out the regular season by dropping a road match-up to Cairn University by a score of 5-0 on Saturday, Oct 26.
Berks (3-13-1 Overall, 1-6-1 UEC) fell behind early to the regionally ranked Highlanders (10-2-5 Overall, 7-0-1 UEC) as they scored twice in the opening 13 minutes.
Gavin Dai tried to jump start the Lions offense, putting a shot on goal in the 17
th minute, but could not cut into the deficit. Carin scored again in the 20
th minute and held a 3-0 lead at the break.
The Lions struggled to maintain possession in the second half, as the Highlanders scored two more times to push their lead to five. The Blue & White did generate another scoring chance om the 83
rd minute when off a corner kick,
Aidan Chendak fired a shot that sailed to just off to the right of the far post.
With the loss, the Lions season has come to a close and they will head into the offseason looking to build upon this seasons successes and lessons learned.
