READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team suffered a 94-79 setback to Lancaster Bible College in United East action on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions trailed 53-36 at halftime, but were able to lessen the deficit to single-digits after a layup by Mahala Ruffner with 5:27 left in the third made it a 59-51 score. LBC used a 23-6 run to close out the third quarter and head into the final 10 minutes of regulation with a 82-63 lead. That hole was too much to overcome, but the Nittany Lions battled hard in the fourth quarter as they outscored LBC by a 22-12 margin.

Mahala Ruffner notched her second double-double of the season after recording 22 points and 15 rebounds to go along with three blocked shots. Ashlyn Clark chipped in 18 points, while Hailey Miller added 17 points, seven boards, seven assists, and four steals in 38 minutes of action. Sam Hagenbus added nine points, five rebounds, and three steals, Reagan Thorp had six points.

Jenna Dombach led all scorers with 33 points, while also adding eight boards, five assists, and three steals. Alaysha Iwais recorded 15 points, seven assists, and six boards, Rachel Nolt had 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Nittnay Lions will travel to Gallaudet University for an United East contest on Tuesday, January 16 at 7 p.m.
