Women's picks up 9-0 win over Penn College

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 win over Penn College in United East action on Monday afternoon at Gring's Mill Tennis Courts.

The Nittany Lions jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after sweeping all three of the doubles matches. The No. 1 duo of Bel Clayton and Sallay Thollie were 8-1 winners, while Sam Hagenbush and Katie Davis had an 8-0 triumph at the third spot. Alyssa Love and Bailey Rocker came out on top in the tightest of the three doubles matches, after winning 8-5 at the No. 2 flight.

Thollie made quick work at her second singles match, winning 6-0, 6-2, while Davis clinched the victory after set scores of 7-6 (9-7), 6-2. Rocker (No. 4) was a 6-0, 6-1 winner, while Hagenbush (No. 5) won 8-0 in a pro-set. Clayton dropped her first set 7-5, but bounced by with wins of 6-4 and then 10-7 in the third-set tiebreak. Love (No. 5) won her opening set 6-2, but fell 6-3 in the second set. The junior emerged with the win after taking the tiebreaker set by a 10-7 count.

The Nittany Lions will host Lancaster Bible College in an United East contest on Tuesday, April 18 at 1 p.m.
