Women's tennis topped by DeSales on the road

CENTER VALLEY, PA - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to DeSales University in non-conference action on the road on Thursday afternoon.

Bel Clayton and Sallie Thollie battled at the top doubles spot, but were topped by an 8-4 margin. Alyssa Love and Bailey Rocker fell 8-1 at the No. 2 spot, while Katie Davis and Sam Hagenbush fell by a similar score at the third spot.

In singles play, Clayton again put up a strong effort, but was topped by a 6-3, 6-2 score at the top spot, while Thollie fought hard but fell 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2. Love (No. 3) was edged 6-4 in her first set and Rocker (No. 4) suffered a tough 6-3 setback in her opening set.

Berks will open up United East play against Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday, April 1 at 1 p.m.
