Men's soccer drops home tilt to Abington

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks men's soccer team suffered a 9-0 setback to Penn State Abington in an United East contest on Wednesday evening.

Berks drops to 2-8-3 on the year and 1-3 in the United East, while Abington now sits at 8-4-3 overall and 4-0 in the conference.

Abington tallied a pair of goals in the first two and a half minutes and then added another score in the 5th and 6th minutes. They eventually took a 7-0 lead into the halftime intermission, while tacking on a score in the 56th and 81st minute of the second half.

Abington outshot Berks by a 17-5 margin (13-2 on goal) and held a 7-1 advantage on corner kicks.

Ethan Brazier had two saves and Josh Martin added one for Berks, while Matt Sheldon and Brendan Werner both had a save for Abington.

Berks will travel to St. Mary's College for an United East match on Saturday, October 21 at 1 p.m.
