Soccer plays to 1-1 draw with Albright

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with visiting Albright College in a non-conference contest on Thursday evening.

Albright (1-3-1) tallied a goal in the first half and looked like they were well on their way to earning their second victory of the season. However, at the 89:07 mark of the contest, Alex Chamorro ripped a shot from just outside the penalty box that deflected off an Albright defenders foot and redirected over the keeper and into the back of the net. Neither team was able to get anything going in the final 53 seconds of play. Per new NCAA rules this season, there are no overtime periods in the regular season and the match ended in a draw.

The Lions scored at the 37:34 mark in the first half when goalkeeper Cooper Walters played a deep ball to Martin Ramsay, who beat the keeper through the far side.

Ethan Brazier finished with six saves in net for the Nittany Lions (1-3-1), while Walters finished with three stops for Albright.

Albright held an 11-8 edge in shots and both teams finished with one corner kick.

The Nittany Lions will travel to DeSales University for a non-conference contest on Saturday, September 17 at 1 p.m.
