Women's tennis falls to Cedar Crest

ALLENTOWN, PA - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team suffered a 6-3 setback to Cedar Crest College in a non-conference contest on Friday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions collected points in two of the three doubles bouts. The No. 1 duo of Mary King and Ashley Olivares were 8-3 winners, while Bailey Rocker and Aaliss Osidele had a 10-6 triumph in the tiebreak to win 8-7 at the third spot. The No. 2 team of Madison Hetrick and Sam Hagenbush were narrowly edged 8-7 (10-7 tiebreaker).

In singles action, Olivares won 8-0 in a pro-set for the lone last point tallied by Berks. Hagenbush (No. 5) fell 6-3 in the first set, battled back with a 6-2 win in the second set, but fell 10-3 in the tie break. Osidele also dropped a hard fought battle by scores of 7-6 (10-6) and 7-5 at the fourth spot in the lineup.

The Nittany Lions will play Lancaster Bible College on Saturday, April 9 at 12 p.m.
